INTRO

Responsive website design for Titan, an events management company that specialise in organising and promoting huge sporting events for major brands.

BACK-END DEVELOPMENT

A sports event company needs a lean design. The backbone of the website is powered by a custom content management system built from the ground up using the ‘Ruby on Rails’ platform. This way we can quickly add / edit / categorise event text and photography through a simple but efficient interface, and the browser can render the dynamic content quicker.

DESIGN

Titan have a catalogue of powerful images from their events that we chose to display full-screen on the home page, overlaid with a minimal navigation. We wanted users to get to the ‘events’ page with as few clicks as possible, and on mobile devices we skipped the homepage altogether and went straight to ‘events’. We kept the navigation simple by keeping all of the events listed on the next page.

MASONRY LAYOUT

The events are shown in a masonry, or ‘pinterest’ style layout, where the images cascade down the page and re-order themselves as you resize the browser window.

SCRIPTED EFFECT

We added some nice CSS animation touches to the main pages. The images flip out towards the screen to add some visual interest as they are loading.

RESPONSIVE

The masonry technique is inherently a responsive layout, as the page is designed ‘mobile-first’, and works well across modern browsers, mobile devices and tablets.
